No I don’t mean some lady, although sometimes I do miss all those British-isms.
There is a magpie having a field day yelling at something. The something could be 1: the dog who is happily flinging his toy from side to side whacking himself in the head OR 2: the cat, who we’ve just let outside for the first time in a week (we just moved). She is ready to act a bit more normal now and explore her new ‘hood.
Don’t mess with Baltimore Street Cat, she knows her stuff. She’s a total pansy when it comes to cars (Kitty used to look both ways before crossing our one way street back home), but Percy just freezes in horror on the front porch then runs for cover i.e. the side of the house where the cars aren’t. . .
I’m happy the pets are back to acting a bit more normal. Percy sleeping on our bed day in day out and then snuggling up with me at night was . . . a bit too weird. She’s just over 2 years old, I really don’t want her being a stressed kitty. One way I knew she was feeling better: she slept at my feet last night, not curled up by my shoulder.
Bacca zonks out at the head of the stairs or on his dog bed. We’re starting to trust him a bit more with the house. I think his “poop-accident” was due to sheer excitement at chasing the cat and he just stopped, dropped a poo and ran on. . . freaked me out. We had this pup housebroken within 2 months (we lived in an apartment and had to run him down the stairs as fast as we could because he couldn’t go down stairs yet). . . I would like to thank our crate and the fact that we put our lives on serious hold for that pup. Coming home from work every 2 hours to let him out, sleeping on the floor with him and taking him out every 2-3 hours at night. . . oy. No more puppy-hood for us. I did not enjoy that month and a half. I love watching him grow up and outgrow some of his chewtoys, but wow. . . not with the tiny bladder. No no no. . . give me a 5 month old dog, I’ll start there. They can go at least part of the day.
Ranting enough? Whoops.
My mom is somewhere between WA and MT right now (i.e. Idaho) but I’m not sure where she stopped. My dad will be here at 12:30 if all his connections work out, my best friend ever will arrive in Seattle about the same time and will get to stay with family until they head over here for our wedding on Wednesday.
I don’t have many real thoughts right now. I’m a bit drained, sick of moving and feeling like I should run around cleaning things but that means going to the old apartment to pick up the mop, Swiffer head and broom. If I go to the apartment I’ll want to clean things out of it. . . UGH. Just… don’t …. wanna….
