After sitting through a busy signal repeatedly I opted to send off an email. I have heard nothing about my accomodation from Newcastle. All I know is that “applications are running a bit late.” We were supposed to hear in July about them, and now it’s August. I sent in my information back in April/May as soon as I could. I want things to be set and ready. I just want to go.
I am ready to leave this foul humid weather behind and enter a world of grey, rain and wind. Sounds like New England huh? Close enough. The weather is remarkably similar except for the whole snow-that-doesn’t-melt-until-April thing. Newcastle has maybe 1 day of snow and then it melts. Sounds like Baltimore now. *sigh* I can live with that.
Back to my story.
Accomodation finally let me know that I should hear from them next week. That sounds good. I like that. I also asked for the number to have them change my birthdate. I was not born in 1891. . . if I was, my “parents” have a lot of explaining to do. Worm holes. . . I suppose it has to do with the worm holes.
But anyways, the records office called back (my dad got to chat with them. . . always so friendly on the phone *erk*) and told me I need to attach a copy of my passport or birth certificate so they can fix my records. Fair enough. The offices are closed now, so it’s going to wait until tomorrow.
On another note, our shower drains again!! HOORAH. I just had my first shower in 3 days. Needless to say I am VERY happy about that. I can’t explain how much a shower improves one’s day. Speaking of today, I need to run around like a crazy person and take care of 80-billion tasks. And so let the day of errand running and sending money to England begin. . . *mutter mutter visa. . . mutter*
I think that I shall be ready for a garage sale in the next few weeks. I hope to have a TON of crap taken care of and gotten rid of. We’ll see what I can ditch. A little extra money is never a bad idea. Anna, Dorian and I shall join up forces and make it quite a showing. I’m not sure I”ll have all that much to get rid that is sell worthy. . but hopefully there shall be some clothing items that need to go. I might even see about foisting off a few notebooks and staionery things I no longer use. This room. . *sigh*
Also, I found this lovely article courtesy of Neil Gaiman’s fun blog.
And let the day begin. . .
